The data used to develop the Kyoto protocol on global warming demonstrates
that nearly 30% of green house gas emissions come from transportation:
planes, automobiles and ships. Geological estimates currently show
that within 20 to 50 years oil may run out or at the very least become
unaffordable.
Transportation companies, particularly automotive companies,
are pioneering green transport, primarily based around the hydrogen
fuel cell. The fuel cell converts hydrogen and air into nothing more
than electricity, heat and water. Already motor vehicle manufacturers
have fuel cell electric cars on the roads of Japan, and could be in
global showrooms by 2010.
Our aim is to provide a framework for these pioneers to promote their
inventions and test them to the limits in front of a global audience.
By proving the technology works we will educate the market and be
instrumental in the early adoption of environmentally friendly transportation.
